About Waxing

What is "Double Dipping" In Waxing?

At Beauty Of Wax we "Do Not Double Dip" during the process of Brazilian Waxing, Ingrown hair serum will always be applied after your waxing on the bikini area to refresh and sooth the skin. We Never use the same applicator's used previously on another client. Always starting each client with new applicator's. During our services new gloves are used to ensure the safety of both the client and the technician's at beauty of wax.

Unfortunately, many technicians are not aware of the dangers of "double dipping." That is when the technician re-inserts the applicator back into the pot of wax and reapplies wax onto the skin. Many technicians believe that the heat of the warmer kills any bacteria and germs when in fact, bacteria are killed at about 202°F and wax should be heated between 120° and 131°F. Anything above this temperature could burn the client’s skin. Some infectious diseases that can be transferred by double dipping are cold sores, fever blisters, genital and oral herpes, thrush (an inflammation of mouth and throat), and warts. Before making an appointment ask the receptionist if they use a no double dipping policy. If they don’t know what you’re talking about, chances are they are not using it.

Why Use the European Wax System?
Easy To use. Quick & gentle removal.  Safer, due to low temperatures that are close to natural skin temperature.  Less sticky & messy than traditional waxes, increasing efficiency.  Anti-irritant ingredients in the wax help to sooth the skin.

Did you find waxing painful?
The first treatment can often be painful, particularly if you have been shaving. This is because shaving has enlarged the bulb at the base of the hair shaft. Remember that the hair grows, rests, then grows again, so it takes about twelve weeks for shaven hair to be replaced with natural hair, therefore it takes two or three waxes before you 'settle in' to natural hair growth. After this time you will experience only minimal discomfort from waxing.

How often?
Between four to six weeks is the usual time span between waxing appointments To obtain beneficial results from waxing you should establish the time span which suits your hair growth and wax regularly at these times, perhaps a little more frequently during summer.

Before your next appointment
Do not use self tanning lotions or moisturizing creams, particularly on your legs, on the day of your appointment as these form an oily barrier which inhibits the grip of the wax.

We service clients located in Hollywood, Hallandale, Dania, Pembroke Pines, Fort Lauderdale, and other nearby areas in South Broward County, Florida.
